Trailblaze Challenge®

The Trailblaze Challenge is an outdoor journey that invites hikers of all levels to support Make-A-Wish South Carolina families, enjoy and explore the outdoors on endurance hikes, and build South Carolina pride & community through an all-inclusive hike experience.

THE CHALLENGE – As well as being an extraordinary physical test through an endurance hike, the real challenge is to raise much needed funds to grant the wishes of children in South Carolina with critical illnesses. A wish gives children renewed energy and strength, brings families closer together and unites communities. By supporting the Trailblaze Challenge, you will help grant more wishes for local kids. This is a hike, not a race, and caters to all fitness levels, from novice to advanced outdoor enthusiasts.

THE JOURNEY - Trailblaze Challenge offers a spring journey and a fall journey. In the spring, Trailblaze Challenge takes place on the Palmetto Trail and offers three separate hike challenges: an Upstate hike, a Midlands hike and a Lowcountry Hike. You can sign up for one, two or all three! In the fall, Trailblaze Challenge takes place on the Foothills Trail in the Upstate. For those who have successfully completed the Foothills Trail challenge there are two additional FT hike challenges available (due to trail elevation, completing the first hike is a prerequisite.)

THE MANTRA - "It's not a race. It's a journey." In this program, there are no winners or losers. Our goal is to bring people together to build community around families who are faced with the harsh realities of critical illnesses. When you take your first step on your journey as a Trailblazer, you are paving the way for a brighter tomorrow for children right here in your community.
